GregarLink10 Dropped projects

Hi everyone, how have you been? man...it's August already! anyway, I wanted to upload something interesting for once this year, so I decided to upload the projects that couldn't see the light of day and also some beta ones, please note that I don't have ANY plans to continue working on the projects exhibited here, so be prepared, without further ado, let's take a look at the dropped projects:


1st one: I.M Meen:
Type: Final
Status: Dropped
I did this one night just to see how he would look in JUS style, I actually planned to make a full sprite sheet of him with sorcerer-like moves like a magical shield and magical beams like the ones Gruntilda used in Banjo Kazooie, it was kind of hard to draw, specially the face, sadly when I finish it and say to myself "ok, I finally like how it looks" I notice that he was too big to be considered a JUS style sprite, also, the colors looks more from Super Mario Bros 3 instead of JUS, due to that I ended up dropping this project

Ganodorf:
Type: Beta
Status: Refined and Finished
This is how my Ganondorf sprite looked in his very 1st stages, at that time I still haven't find a good base to make him, so I suspended it for a while, then one day I saw Raoh from JUS and then I decide to see if I can use him as a base, the one in the right is the final result, can you guess who I use as a base for the beta one?, here's a tip: is from one of my favorites SNES games

Princess Zelda:
Type: Final
Status: Dropped
The princess of Hyrule, at the time I was working on most of the Ocarina of time cast (Ganondorf, Link, Young Link, Zelda, etc...) I wanted to make sprites for Zelda with the moves she used in OoT (you know walking, writing letters, open doors with magic, sealing Ganon etc...), why? technically because I dreamed to see an OoT fan game in the style of Zelda II, one day I saw that it was too improbable, so I dropped the idea, still, I didn't wanted to leave the young Zelda's sprites (the ones that I was working on when i decided to drop the idea) without an use, so I randomly use them here and there in some of my deviations and sprtie sheets, mostly because she's cute XP, about the adult Zelda, I use her as a base for my Twilight princess Zelda sprite, this one is still in production, so don't worry, also, if you want to see how far the young Zelda sprites were completed before it was dropped, check this link: gregarlink10.deviantart.com/ar…

Twilight Princess Link:
Type: Beta
Status: Dropped
Link in his Twilight Princess look....well, kind of XP, I don't know why, at some point I wanted to redo my Link sprites to give him the T.P. look (like what I did with the Skyward sword Link), I also thought that people would want to use the T.P. look rather than the OoT look with just a recolor, so I was working in this one and then....SSF2 appeared XP, and people looked satisfyed with their result, so I dropped the idea

Toon Link:
Type: Beta
Status: Dropped
Oh boy this one.....this is one of my favorite incarnations of Link (behind the OoT Links), so it was natural that I would want to make him a sprite sheet, then why I stopped?....I never like how the face turned out in the end, seriously, I tried to fix his face like 24 times and nothing worked!, in the end I just never continued workin in this one, some time after that I saw some people working in him and I saw that they were doing a fine job, so I just decide to see their work instead of continue with my own sprite sheet, if I'm not mistaken, I think that those Toon link sprites where later used in SSF2 or clash or something...technically those where an edite from this ones....can't believe this guy(gal) finish them in only 7 hours!: www.spriters-resource.com/cust…

Mario:
Type: Beta
Status: Refined and finished
The Mario sprite sheet.....I been working on then since 2008, the one in the left is the sprite in his 1st stages XP, clearly, I was using Mario's sprites from M&L PiT as a base but I never really like it, so, instead of continue using this base I decide to create it from scratch, the final result is the one in the right, which one do you prefer?

Gash Bell:
Type: Final
Status: Dropped
I used to watch this anime back in the day, it was hilarious XD, I ended up liking the anime and playing the GBA games (even if they were in japanese, never understand anything XD), I even ripped some sprites from the games (currently availables in the Sprite Database!), when I finally get to play JSS I wanted to see Gash as a playable character so I start making him an sprite sheet, it nerev went too far in development, I only did the stand and running poses (clearly based on the GBA games XP), I ended up dropping this project in favor of other ones (young Link)

Original X:
Type: Final
Status: Suspended
Now this is a recent one, back in 2011 I uploaded some concepts of how I thought X would look in the Megaman Zero series, the sprite was well received so I decided to make a sprite sheet of it, it went far in development, the stand, running, shooting and jumping animations were finished, but not refined, and the dash animation was almost completed, I don't know why I never finish it, I was planning on give him only the moves that he used in MegaMan X1, so it was close to be finished!, you can see the sprite sheet here: gregarlink10.deviantart.com/ar…

Break Man:
Type: Final
Status: Suspended
Back with the power ups...this one is technically a simple edit of my Power up Protoman sprites, the reason why I never finish it was because at the time I knew already that my powered up sprite sheet weren't so popular, so It was kind of pointless

PU Mega Man:
Type: Beta
Status: partially Finished but dropped
now, this is REALLY ancient...this was my VERY 1st Power up MegaMan sprite sheet (!), as you can see it has nothing to do with the final result, this one was bigger and more "cartoony", basically because I used the actual 2D artworks as a base instead of the 3D models like with the other ones, so probably I was working on this one back in 2006 or 2007 is went really, and I mean REALLY far in development, it only lacks the intro and ladder animations!, so why I scraped it?....because when I did Fireman in the PU style I used the 3D model as a reference instead of the 2D artwork, and I ended up liking this style more than the older one....STRANGE ISN'T IT!?, you can see the sprite sheet here: gregarlink10.deviantart.com/ar…

Silver and Metal Sonic:
Type: Final
Status: Dropped
Back to this year XP, I did this Silver and Metal Sonic mostly to see if I could make sprites in the Sonic Advance style, I ended up liking the final result and I wanted t make them both a sprite sheet, but, thanks to the more skillful fans they aready have some pretty good sprite sheets, so I ended up dropping the idea

Trainers:
Type: Final
Status: Dropped
again an old project from around 2007, pokemon Diamond and pearl where out and I wanted to play them XP, but also I wanted to see the old characters from previous games in the new style, because at the time I didn't have any of those games all I could do was this, I eventually saw that I wasn't good enough with the trainer card sprites, also, at that time there were any tool to edit the DS roms yet, so I ended up dropping the idea

SSBB4 Mega Man:
Type: Final
Megaman in his SSBB look....it was an awesome reveal trailer wasn't it?......why is this here?, well, mostly to say that no matter if it take me twelve years or more to finish, I WILL MAKE AN SPRTIE SHEET OF THIS GUY! (and god help me because with the school, exams, projects, programation, everyday life, job and eveything else this will be kind of hard to make XP)
